Design from an old Rowan pattern book, knit while hanging out with dear old friends in the hot Kansas summer of 2005. It’s incredibly slouchy, a beautiful color, and breathes well. Kind of silly looking, and I love it!

my first real sweater, originally uploaded by Hannahcha.
Got the pattern from Stitch & Bitch’s first book, using gorgeous tweed yarn that I bought while spending some time in Ireland in the summer of 2004. I was so incredibly proud of myself for actually completing a sweater, after years of hats and scarves and legwarmers and throw pillows.

winter break 2004, originally uploaded by Hannahcha.
This is the earliest photo of my knitting that I have on hand, despite the fact that I’ve been knitting and crocheting since I was 10. This was winter break 2004, when I was knitting so constantly that my mother was afraid she would come downstairs one morning and find that I’d knit a cozy for every single thing in the house (and believe me, we have A LOT of things, my parents are collectors of all sorts of stuff).

inspired by multitudes of yummy craft-blogs that I have recently discovered, I am hereby starting my own, because I think it is FANTASTIC that there is such a widespread community of craftspeople and appreciators who give their creations much-deserved attention. sign me up! my name is Hannah and i’m a lifelong crafter and artist, age 22, recently graduated from Vassar College with a degree in anthropology, spending the year in Lima, Peru starting a coffeeshop with my boyfriend and partner, David. in between testing new coffee blends and reveling in my increasingly functional spanish skills, I am a passionate knitter and baker. I’m always eager to see what other folks are making. i hope that having this blog will help keep me motivated to pursue more projects and to share their progress.
more shortly!
